BUTTE, Mont. (AP) — Beaverhead County officials say motorist who was shot after threatening a deputy with a rifle during a traffic stop was hospitalized in critical condition. Sheriff Frank Kluesner tells The Montana Standard a deputy stopped the man’s pickup truck on a frontage road south of Dillon Tuesday night after receiving a report of a possible drunken driver. The sheriff says the man got out of his pickup with his rifle and the deputy shot him.
