GREAT FALLS –The Roadhouse Diner in Great Falls is preparing to celebrate its first anniversary with a burger-eating contest – and a big prize for the winner.
Most restaurants that feature eating contests award the winners with a t-shirt or a photo on the wall, but Jason and Tara Beam, the owners of the Roadhouse Diner, are putting their money where your mouth is.
The winner will be awarded a $500 cash prize, and also a custom-made “Burger Eatin’ Challenge Championship Belt.”
Jason said, “I’ve been working on this idea for six months, trying to come up with something unique. We get asked daily about doing a food challenge, so I thought what better way to commemorate our anniversary than with a competitive eating challenge!”
The event will be on Saturday, June 4th, and will pit contestants against the ‘Road Hawg’ burger and fries.
The monster burger is stacked with six patties.
The person who chows down with the fastest time will be declared the winner.
There will also be special menu items and prizes for spectators during the contest, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on June 4th.
There is a $25 entry fee for contestants, which includes the meal and a contest T-shirt.
The deadline to enter is Sunday, May 22nd.
