HELENA – Firefighters quickly got a fire at a Helena home under control Friday.

It started just after 6:30 p.m., near the intersection of Winne Avenue and Sanders Street.

Firefighters say the fire spread from the hallway into the attic, and they had to knock down some of the ceiling to put it out.

Everyone inside the home got out safely by the time firefighters arrived.

There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
