(NBC) – A major review of research finds little evidence medical marijuana can treat certain conditions.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reviewed data from 27 clinical trials of cannabis to treat chronic pain. There was some evidence it may relieve pain from nerve damage, but they said they couldn’t make any firm conclusions on marijuana’s effect on other types of chronic pain.

A separate review of cannabis to treat PTSD also found little evidence it works.
