GREAT FALLS-Volunteer firefighters were called out last night for a wildfire off of Adel Road, several miles southeast of Cascade.

Cascade Volunteer Fire Chief Eric Tilleman says when they arrived at the scene, the fire was burning about 15 to 20 feet high.

Other responding agencies included Ulm Volunteer Fire Department, Gore Hill Volunteer Fire Department, and the Montana Air National Guard.

Tilleman says the fire burned somewhere between 50 to 75 acres.

The fire was started by a lightning strike from a passing thunderstorm.

He says with conditions so dry right now, there is a big concern for fires starting at any moment.

There have not been any reports of injuries from the fire.

We do not yet know if any homes or structures were damaged.
