HELENA – Fire officials say activity picked up Tuesday afternoon on the Alice Creek Fire.

Officials said that the biggest concern Tuesday was shifting winds that could throw embers outside the main fire. More resources have been ordered to help fight the fire.

Fire managers said despite tough conditions on Monday, and with help from volunteer crews they were able to keep the fire from crossing Highway 200.

The fire has so far consumed almost 28,000 and is five percent contained.

A meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the C Bar N Mission for Dearborn Canyon residents.
