WASHINGTON — Montana U.S. Senator Steve Daines testified before the International Trade Commission on Tuesday.

Daines talked about softwood lumber products from Canada.

The Softwood Lumber agreement expired in 2015. When a new agreement wasn’t reached by April of 2017 the Trump Administration imposed new import tariffs on Canadian lumber. The Trump Administration says the tariffs on subsidized timber from the Canada will protect American jobs.
