HELENA – Now that fire season is winding down, officials from the Northern Rockies Coordinating Group announced Thursday that, starting Friday, all fire restrictions within the Helena and Great Falls areas will be lifted.
The notice affects federal, state, tribal and county lands.
Each county could have differing descriptions when it comes to debris burning so the NRCG recommends checking with county officials before burning.
The only counties that still remain under Stage 1 fire restrictions include Hill, Blaine, Judith Basin, Fergus, Petroleum, Wheatland, Musselshell and Powder River counties.
Treasure County is still under Stage 2 fire restrictions.
