The Montana Wildfire Relief Fund has now raised almost $300,000.

As of Thursday, the fund had received 44 new donations representing $5,843.51. The grand total stands at 986 donations and $283,196.75. This amount represents all the matches being met, including the latest $5,000 match from the Alice Lee Lund Charitable Trust.

In addition, $50,000 has been donated by the Montana Television Network Cordillera Communications, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch and Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation has donated $50,000, American Bank donated $10,000 and PureWest Christies Bozeman chipped in another $10,000.

Every donation – no matter how small it may seem – can help make a difference, and demonstrates that people across Montana and beyond care about the Treasure State and the people who make it special.

More than 4,000 firefighters have been involved in the battle against the fires this season; two of them lost their lives fighting fires in western Montana. An estimated 1,295,959 acres have burned this year across Montana (as of September 20).
