GREAT FALLS – An eight-year-old gave back to the foundation that helped her and her family recover after a medical operation in 2015.

Taylin Dees presented almost $300 to Benefis Health System Foundation’s Angel Fund on Wednesday afternoon.

She asked for donations to the fund instead of presents at her birthday party last weekend and said it was a great feeling giving back to kids and families.

Taylin and her mother, Jessica Stiles, said she came up with the idea to donate to the fund so she could help other children dealing with medical issues

Two years ago, the fund helped Taylin’s family after an operation at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Taylin said she would like to become a doctor one day after she received good care while in Seattle.

The fund helps cover expenses for things such as travel and lodging for Montana families with sick children who must travel to receive treatment.

According to the Foundation, donations like Taylin’s are crucial to the fund’s operations.
