As of Tuesday, the Montana Wildfire Relief Fund had received 39 new donations totaling $18,331.50.
Over the past month, donations have come in from people here in Montana and across the country. The Montana Wildfire Relief Fund has received 1,291 donations totaling $442,459.54.
The fund is a partnership between the Montana Television Network and the Montana Community Foundation.
MTN and its parent company Cordillera Communications matched the first $50,000 raised.
Last week an anonymous donation of $50,000 was received. Carl and Kay Carbon have matched $50,000 and the Mountain Sky Guest Ranch Fund and Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation also matched $50,000.
The Montana Shirt Co. contributed $25,000 to the fund. American Bank and PureWest Christies International Real Estate have contributed $10,000 apiece.
The Shopko Foundation and the Alice Lee Lund Charitable Trust have each donated $5,000.
The application process for the Montana Wildfire Relief Fund is now open.
Organizations, groups and individuals who think they may qualify are welcome to apply. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 10.
A panel of fire experts, Montana Community Foundation representatives and MTN staff will distribute funds based on need and relevance.
Rural volunteer fire departments are highly encouraged to apply.
