Montana Wildfire Relief Fund receives new $50,000 donation

The Montana Wildfire Relief Fund received an anonymous donation of $50,000.

The fund received 27 new donations as of Thursday representing $102,320.  That number includes the anonymous donation and the $50,000 match from Carl and Kay Carbon.

The total amount raised for the Wildfire Fund is now $418,359 which includes an initial $50,000 match from the Montana Television Network and its parent company Cordillera Communications.

The fund has received over 1,200 individual donations.

The Mountain Sky Guest Ranch Fund and Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation also matched $50,000.

The Montana Shirt Co. contributed $25,000 to the fund. American Bank and PureWest Christies International Real Estate have contributed $10,000 apiece.

The Shopko Foundation and the Alice Lee Lund Charitable Trust have each donated $5,000.

Money raised will go to help those impacted by the wildfires of 2017.

The MTN Montana Wildfire Relief Fund is a partnership between the Montana Television Network and the Montana Community Foundation.

MTN includes KTVQ Billings, KBZK Bozeman, KXLF Butte, KRTV Great Falls, KBGF Great Falls, KTVH Helena, KXLH Helena, KAJ Kalispell and KPAX Missoula.

The grant application process is set to begin Oct. 9. Volunteer fire departments across Montana are encouraged to apply. The Montana Community Foundation is also working with smaller community foundations around the state to assess need.
