GREAT FALLS- Students across Great Falls are celebrating being drug-free during “Red Ribbon Week.”

During Tuesday morning’s, Cascade County commissioner meeting, Jane Weber read a proclamation declaring October 23 trough the 27 as Red Ribbon Week in the county.

This year’s theme is “Your future is key, so be drug-free.”

The Cascade City-County Health Department joined commissioners and students to inspire community members to live drug-free.

Students say it is important to support each other to be drug-free.

“It will lead them in the direction they need to go and instead of being induced in drugs. That can lead on a bad path. It will remind them to always be healthy and to always remember to put yourself first,” said Alyssa Johns, a student at Paris Gibson Education Center.

Johns also presented the commissioners with a hand-made key symbolizing this year’s theme.
