A man died over the weekend in a farming accident according to the Teton County Sheriff’s Office.

Martin Wilde was killed when his trailer rolled on top of him.

It happened just before 11 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Highways 408 and 287. Wilde was 61 years old.

Teton County Undersheriff and Deputy Coroner Steve Gjerde said Wilde was attempting to load an open-face tractor with a farm implement attached onto a trailer. The tractor tipped off the trailer and landed on him, causing blunt force trauma to his chest.

Responding agencies included the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, Choteau ambulance, Fairfield Fire Department, as well as a Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s deputy and an Montan FWP game warden that was in the area.
