Jesse Slaughter, a detective with the Great Falls Police Department, has officially filed to run for the position of Cascade County Sheriff.
He filed his paperwork to run on Tuesday morning.
Slaughter has been with the Great Falls Police Department since 2002.
He started as a patrol officer and is now working in the special victims unit.
Slaughter says if elected, he will focus on the child and drug abuse problems in the county.
“I will partner with the community to solve problems and I will make the Sheriff’s office more visible and more accessible. I will use my experience and connections to build bridges to effectively serve the citizens of Cascade County,” Slaughter said.
Slaughter has also served on the POST council and he was on the MPPA legislative committee.
Bob Rosipal filed several days ago to run for the position of Cascade County Sheriff.
Incumbent Sheriff Bob Edwards has not yet filed to run for re-election.
