HELENA- A Lewis and Clark Co. Judge sentenced a Jorey Strizich to more than four decades in prison for his role in a botched burglary on Little Wolf Creek Rd. in December of 2016.
In October, a jury found Strizich guilty of Aggravated Burglary, Criminal Trespassing, and possession of dangerous drugs.
Strizich and Caleb Daniels were burglarizing a Little Wolf Creek cabin on December 28, 2016, when the owner arrived at the cabin. In the confrontation with the cabin owner that followed, Daniels and the cabin owner exchanged gunshots. Strizich was wounded.
Strizich and Daniels fled but were captured later that day.
At sentencing, Judge Michael McMahon gave Strizich a 40-year sentence on the Aggravated Burglary charge and 20 years, with 15 suspended for the Possession of Dangerous Drugs charge.
He will be eligible for parole in 10 years.
In July of 2016, a jury convicted Caleb Daniels of Attempted Deliberate Homicide and other charges related to the incident. Daniels was sentenced to 120 years in prison last September.
