Carroll College students working to fight hunger in Helena

HELENA – The Carroll College Enactus club is partnering with Helena Food Share to help fill the Bruin Pantry for kids in need.

The club is hosting a Food Drive during the women and men’s basketball games against Montana Tech on Wednesday Feb. 7th.

The food raised will go to help the Bruin Pantry, which provides supplemental resources to students in need such as food bags, toiletries and school supplies.

Club president Jessica Schmitz says that the club thinks that it’s great supporting the community they’ve moved into.

“None of us are obviously from Helena, we’re all just students at Carroll but we’ve moved into this community and we want to help,” says Schmitz.

The food drive is a part of the club’s “Helena Hunger” project that they will be presenting at the Enactus Regional Competition in April.

Below is a list of pantry items that are needed. Enactus asks that the items be individually wrapped, single-serving, and not require refrigeration.
