HELENA – Sixteen teams competed in the annual Snowball Softball Tournament hosted by the Helena Softball Association this weekend.

Over half of the proceeds go to charities chosen by the top four teams as well as the Helena Umpires Association, which will donate to similar charities.

The game is a combination of baseball and dodgeball.

Opponents attempt to tag a player by hitting them with a dodgeball below the shoulders.

A costume competition is also being held and the team with the best costume will win additional prize money for their charity of choice.

Darcie Conquergood is hoping her team “Weird Waldos” will win.

“Just being with my friends, I haven’t seen them since August when the season got over. It’s a great way to break up the winter and have some fun,” she said.

The tournament continues on Sunday at the Batch Fields.
