Wind chill is approaching -50 near Havre.  A WIND CHILL WARNING remains in effect through Saturday morning for most of the Hi-Line.  A WIND CHILL ADVISORY remains in effect for areas off the Rocky Mountain Front through central and southeast Montana.  The wind chill is a quantity indicating the effective lowering of the air temperature caused by the wind, impacting the rate of heat loss from an object like human skin.  The combination of an air temperature of -20 with a wind of 17mph in Havre creates a wind chill value of -48.  Frostbite is likely to occur on exposed skin in minutes.  Please use extreme caution going outside.  As temperatures warm closer to 0 Saturday, the wind chill values will moderate some.
