BILLINGS – The woman found dead in the doorway of a downtown business over the weekend has been identified as Renee Whistlingelk, 48.

Yellowstone County Coroner Cliff Mahoney said Whistlingelk did not die of hypothermia, and he is awaiting a toxicology report to determine the official cause of death. Mahoney said the woman was a known transient in the area.

The woman was found at a business on the 2800 block of First Avenue North early Saturday morning, according to the Billings Police Department.

Detectives investigating the death determined there was nothing suspicious on scene and that the woman had been drinking with other transients throughout the night.
