FORSYTH – A Forsyth man remained hospitalized in Billings on Thursday after he was shot by his father-in-law during an argument with his wife, according to the Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Allen Fulton said the incident took place Wednesday at a home south of Forsyth around 6:15 p.m.
A 56-year-old man was fighting with his 53-year-old wife and the dispute involved a gun, according to Fulton.
The woman’s father, a 74-year-old man, intervened and exchanged gunfire with his son-in-law.
The younger man was struck in the calf, according to Fulton, and he drove himself to the hospital.
The man was then transported to a Billings hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed but Fulton said the incident remains under investigation.
The names of the three people involved were not released.
Fulton said there is no danger to the community.
