HELENA – A man was arrested by the Helena Police Department Monday night after threatening two people with a gun and sending a nearby restaurant into lockdown.

The incident started just after 8 p.m. Monday when Helena police say 58 year-old William Bagosy pointed a gun at a couple whose car got stuck near Bagosy’s camper in the 3200 block of North Sanders.

Police responded by creating a perimeter and contacting businesses in the area. After a short time, Officers located the suspect and the rifle, which turned out to be a pellet rifle.

One of the businesses sent into lockdown was the nearby Pizza Ranch.

Patrons at the restaurant were allowed to leave shortly after 9 p.m.

Bagosy was arrested for two counts of assault with a weapon, and was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Jail with no bond.
