Happy first weekend of spring!
This weekend will be a beauty with warmer temperatures and a lot of sunshine during the day. If you plan on heading up into the mountains there will be a few scattered snow showers. Saturday night into Sunday morning a weak disturbance will move through with more widespread snow showers, but sunshine will increase through Sunday. Highs will be in the 40s and low 50s, but 30s in the mountains and up along the Hi-Line. The next period of disturbed weather will increase late on Monday with a few showers and possibly an isolated rumble of thunder. A cold front will move through the state Monday night and Tuesday with colder temperatures supporting snow. Areas of snow will spread across the state on Tuesday and Wednesday. Right now there is a possibility of a couple inches accumulating in the lower elevations, with more than 6" in the mountains. Cooler than normal temperatures along with scattered snow showers and wind will continue on Thursday. An active storm pattern will continue through the end of the month into the beginning of April. Precipitation this time of year is essential ahead of fire season. Believe it or not, that season is not that far off now.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend.
