Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks has announced changes to their black bear reporting requirements for this hunting season.
All successful bear hunters are now required to report their harvest through an FWP hotline (1-877-397-9453) within 48-hours of harvest instead of in person.
This move is the latest step to accommodate the governor's social distancing directive.
Just last week FWP also suspended all nonresident spring hunting seasons for black bear and turkey until April 24th to comply with new travel directives.
Similar changes have been made to mountain lion, otter and big horn sheep head recovery.
