HELENA – Blackfoot River Brewing joined forces with Helena Food Share for their annual Red Ale brew day.

A team of brew experts spent the morning brewing the special Mardi Gras Ale, accompanied by Food Share Director, Bruce Day.

“Today is our brew day so, we are brewing the Mardi Gras Red Ale and it’s going to be released at Blackfoot on March fifth,” said Day.

The Fat Tuesday fundraiser has been going on for more than a decade, and a portion of the proceeds from the beer sales will benefit the Helena Food Share. Live music by Cottonwood Club will be at 5:30 p.m.

Tim Chrisman, Head Brewer and Production Manager of Blackfoot River Brewing said, “we’ve been doing this for 11 years now, I think, and it’s a great way to for us to kind of bring some attention to the organizations.”
