GREAT FALLS — Foothills Community Christian School High School Council members made a special delivery to the Great Falls Rescue Mission on Friday.

The Student Council members did their own baking and hosted a bake sale earlier this week which earned $400, and had previously decided they would match the bake sale proceeds with other Student Council funds - resulting in a donation of $800 to the Rescue Mission.

“There’s different service projects that us as a student council like to do. The Rescue Mission, we’ve always had a close partnership with Foothills and it’s close to our hearts and we know that they definitely have needs,” said Student Council president Reese Broadbent.

Jim McCormick, the director of the Rescue Mission, said “We provide a meal to somebody for $1.89. That’s a lot of meals at $800. For them to take it upon themselves to help us is just phenomenal."

The Foothills Student Council groups have supported the Rescue Mission during the Christmas season for several years. Previous projects have included bake sales, shoe boxes for residents of the Cameron Family Shelter, and donations of food and services for the Family Center Christmas breakfast.
