Our pet of the week today is Gemma, a one-year-old cat.
She is hesitant at first around new faces, but she warms up once she has a chance to adjust. She thrives in quieter environments where she can relax.
Gemma is so shy that she actually hid under her bed when she saw the camera. Because of her shyness, it's been difficult for her to find a home. During the humane society's clear the shelter event last month, she was one of only a small handful of cats who were left without a home. But once she has the chance to adjust, Gemma is a very sweet cat.
"She's a really really sweet cat, and even though she doesn't really show super super well here at the shelter, she is deserving of a really good home. We've had cats like her before, and they just need a patient owner to give them that time to kind of come out of their shell."
