HELENA VALLEY — After nearly 6 months of work, renovations have wrapped up on West Mont Farm and Gardens group home and client are back living in their home.

West Mont held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday to celebrate the occasion.

The facility is now fully ADA accessible with an additional bedroom, revamped bathrooms and many other improvements.

Many of the clients have lived in the group home for over a decade and West Mont says these improvements will allow them to stay in their home longer.

“It will help them to not have to go to a nursing home or move to another one of our facilities,” said Ashleigh Heimbach, West Mont president. “We will be able to keep them here at the group home, let them age with us and provide any care that they need as they get older.”

West Mont was able to make the $800,000 renovation thanks to funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Montana Department of Commerce and Lewis and Clark County.

Current clients of the Farm and Gardens Group Home were moved into other West Mont facilities while work was being done.
