According to the USGS a magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred at 8:47pm approximately 4.4 miles east of Marysville, or 11 miles northwest of the Helena Valley. Eyewitnesses in the area have described a solid, sustained shaking of the ground. There also have been reports of aftershocks in the area.
