HELENA — The Lewis and Clark Humane Society is gearing up for one of its biggest fund-raisers of the year.

Wine for whiskers!

In years past, the event has typically raised over $20,000 for the shelter.

Money raised goes towards general up-keep, and fills in the gaps wherever funding is needed.

This year, there is a new addition.

There will be cats and kittens at the event for folks to pet and cuddle.

Attendees will also be able to bid on the "kitten cuddle-puddle,"

The lucky winner will have a group of kittens come to their work.

Just to cuddle and play,

And brighten everyone's day!

"This is an idea that was kind of our brain child that we had," said LCHS Director of Development & Communications Cassidy Cook. "We were, like, how can we get something really exciting? Because what do people always want, they want to interact with the animals. So we were like, oh my gosh! We'll take them to their place of work and let them cuddle with them. And it gets the animals out of the shelter which is always nice."

Wine for Whiskers is this Saturday, September 14th and there are still tickets available.
