Meteorological Spring Right Around the Corner

While there may be a few snow showers moving through the state right now, another spring-like fling is on the way. Thursday will be a transitional day with a mix of clouds and sun, wind and slightly warmer temperatures. Highs should climb into the 40s and low 50s. Friday will be the breadwinner though with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 50s for most of the lower elevations. A strong wind will blow across the mountains and the prairies. Mild weather will continue Friday night into Saturday morning, but a cold front will come through early on Saturday ending the mild weather. Saturday will quickly turn windy with increasing clouds and a few mixed rain and snow showers. Temperatures will fall quickly in the mountains on Saturday, with a slower dropoff in the lower elevations. The mountains could pick up a few inches of snow quickly through Saturday afternoon. Sunday is March 1st and the beginning of the month should be cooler with a few scattered snow showers, mainly in the mountains. Highs will be in the 30s to around 40. Monday will be mild and mostly cloudy as the next storm storm approaches. That storm will arrive by Tuesday with snow and wind. A few inches are possible in the lower elevations while the mountains could get socked. That's the pattern that Montana has been in all winter long.
Have a great day.
