More Sun Than Storms for Start of May

Posted at
and last updated

Thunderstorms rumbled across Montana on the final day of April. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to work through Montana tonight into Friday morning. The first day of May will be a pleasant spring day for most of the state. With low pressure moving away and high pressure moving in there will be mostly sunny skies and a strong west wind up to 30mph. Highs will be cooler in the low to mid 60s. Nice weather will continue into the weekend as mostly sunny skies, light wind and mostly sunny skies prevail on Saturday. Late in the afternoon and evening there will be a few isolated thunderstorms near the Continental Divide. Highs will be in the 60s to around 70. A few showers will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunday will not be as nice with partly to mostly cloudy skies producing a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Highs will be cooler and the wind stronger. Cool, showery weather will continue into next week. An active storm track will send several areas of low pressure through Montana keeping the weather unsettled. With below average temperatures, snow levels will drop in the mountains but any accumulation should be confined to the mountains.
Have a great day.
