Columbia Falls Police want the public to be aware of several mountain lion sightings in and around Rivers Edge Park.

The sightings have been of a mature lion that has not yet been aggressive towards people. Wildlife officials have been notified of the incidents as well.

Police say if you see a mountain lion or bear in city limits, please call them so they can ensure the public is staying clear of the animals.

Police also suggest carrying bear spray on your walks in or near Rivers Edge Park as an extra precaution.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Columbia Falls Police Department at (406) 892-3234.
