Quilt project commemorates Lewis and Clark Library’s 150th anniversary

Posted

HELENA – As part of its 150th anniversary celebration, the Lewis and Clark Library is sponsoring a community quilt block project.

From May 1 until May 10, quilters can pick up a quilt kit at the information desk of the main branch of the library.

The kits include background fabric and frame fabric and the quilter must add a square in the middle.

Quilters will then have until May 24 to sew their square and return the piece to the library.

Signatures are welcome at the bottom part of the white frame.

Once all of the blocks have been returned, they will be sewn together and the quilt will be displayed at the Lewis and Clark Library and the Last Chance Stampede and Fair.

For more information about the project, contact Adult Services Librarian Suzanne Schwichtenberg at (406) 447-1690 or email sschwich@lclibrary.org.
