GREAT FALLS – University of Providence leaders and community members were proud to pick up their shovels on Thursday at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new university center.
This new building will be home to classrooms, lecture halls, collaboration rooms, and a one-stop-shop for many student services.
This groundbreaking university center is a part of a $25 million dollar investment which will include a wrestling facility and updates to their student center.
The goal is to bring more students into the community and provide them with a great college experience.
“I just had a conversation with a high school student here in great falls yesterday and her comment was you know my friends are now deciding to attend the University of Providence versus going to Missoula or Bozeman and that’s what we want and that’s what the excitement of this project is generating,” Great Falls Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Shane Etzwiler said.
He adds that he believes smaller campuses allow students to be more than just a number and gives them the opportunity to get more one on one instruction.
