WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS – The Meagher County Sheriff’s Office posted the following message on Facebook on Saturday:

We had a very dangerous situation last week. This little baggie contains Methamphetamine. It was found laying on the street on the 400 Block of Hampton St. East. If a child had found this, it could have had dire consequences.

A huge thank you to the gentleman who found it and turned it in.

If you find something like this, please don’t touch it, call 911 and report it. There could be residue on the outside of the bag which could cause a severe reaction. The deputy who tested this didn’t have to open the baggie, there was enough of the drug on the outside to get a positive test.

Lately, a drug called fentanyl has been in the news. Just a microscopic dose of fentanyl can have fatal consequences. There have been numerous instances where drug dealers are mixing fentanyl with heroin and/or methamphetamine.

If this baggie belongs to you, please call the Meagher County Sheriff’s Office to claim it.
