HELENA- Helena Public Schools has canceled a call for volunteers to come to Rossiter Elementary School Tuesday morning.

Tuesday morning the district said rapidly rising water has forced the county to close Sierra Rd.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Southern Lewis and Clark Co. along Tenmile Creek, Sevenmile Creek, and Prickly Pear Creek.

The flood warning extends until at least 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

People are advised to avoid flooded areas.

Lewis and Clark Co. Disaster and Emergency Services said on Facebook Monday that the county has already distributed some 500 tons of sand and 32,000 sandbags.

This is a developing story, MTN will have more details throughout the day.
