SEELEY LAKE – The American Red Cross of Montana is opening an evacuation shelter for Seeley Lake area flooding victims.
The shelter will be located at the Mission Bible Fellowship which is located at 3158 Montana Highway 83 in response to ongoing flooding in the Seeley Lake area.
Red Cross shelters provide meals, a safe place to stay, information and access to other community resources. Everyone is welcome at a Red Cross shelter, and all services are free.
A public meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Seeley-Swan High School to discuss the flooding situation.
Additionally, Seeley Lake residents can find sandbags at Seeley Lake Rural Fire Department Station 1 located at 200 Fire House Drive just off A Street and at the Missoula County Satellite Office at SLRFD Station 2 north of Seeley.
John Richards Construction, I Know Jack LLC. and Deer Creek Excavating as well as Nature Scapes of Seeley are providing sand for public use.
The Red Cross also has an emergency shelter open at Christ the King Church at 1400 Gerald Avenue in Missoula for flooding victims.
