BILLINGS – This summer, Montana will be the backdrop for a new television series featuring Kevin Costner.
“Yellowstone” is about a ranching family in Montana facing off against others encroaching on their land. It will air on the Paramount Network in June.
According to the Montana Film Office, this is the first scripted network TV drama to be filmed in Montana.
During the filming of that new series, $1.5 million was spent creating jobs, buying supplies, on hotel rooms and location fees.
The state of Montana can be found in more than 180 different productions, from documentaries and tv series to short and feature-length films, according to the film office.
