Helena Ride to Work Day set for May 18th

HELENA – People rolled into the Great Northern Town Center Tuesday to celebrate National Bike Month.

Helena Mayor Wilmot Collins proclaimed this Friday May 18th as ‘Ride to Work Day’ in Helena.

The mayor also led a family-friendly bike ride through Centennial Park to celebrate the occasion.

Attendees of the event said that it was a great day to get out with the family and enjoy some biking.

Mayor Collins hopes the proclamation will bring attention to Helena’s great trail system and asks Helena drivers to share the road.

“We also have to remind the drivers to be careful as they drive on the street because there will be there will be bicycles on the streets there will be kids riding their bicycles on the streets,” says Collins, “Let’s be careful.”

Bike Helena Spring Shuttle Fest will also kick off this Friday which provides free all day shuttles from May 18th-20th.
