GREAT FALLS – A popular TV show called “Shark Tank” features entrepreneurs who get the opportunity to present their business ideas to investors in hopes of being endorsed and getting funding for their venture.

Students from CMR High School and Great Falls High School competed for a chance to win during a mock ‘Shark Tank’ competition on Thursday.

“It’s very intimidating for sure, but it’s nice to be able to enhance my presentation skills and get more feedback on things I can do better presentation-wise and product-wise so that I can use that later in life and then further in my business classes,” said CMR junior Samantha Olson.

In front of two judges, the students had to present a business plan, including a marketing strategy, employment, and a product idea.

Many of the students said they could see themselves in the business or entrepreneur field when they graduate from college.

“Perks of being an entrepreneur would be getting to do everything yourself. That’s how I am as a person. I want everything done the right way and I normally only trust myself to do that. If it’s just you, or you and a partner, you can do it your way. You don’t have to listen to anybody, you don’t have to rely on anyone other than yourself,” Great Falls High sophomore Jorgie Hawthorne said.
