KALISPELL – Flathead Valley Community College held a graduation ceremony for the first cohort of students who participated in the STARS Preschool Pilot Program, which was funded by a state grant last summer.

Nineteen children ages four-to-six were recognized during the ceremony. Some will enter kindergarten this fall, while others will continue their pre-school education as room leaders.

FVCC’s Early Childhood Center was one of 17 pre-school providers in the state that received a grant from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services last year to implement a two-year preschool pilot program.

Twenty, four and five year olds will participate in the second year of the program beginning this September.
