BILLINGS – Students at the Billings Career Center celebrated the construction of a home on Billings West End.

An open house let the students show their work to their families Saturday afternoon.

The Home Builders Association sponsored the building of the four bedroom, three bathroom home at 4183 Banbury Place.

Career Center students have been building homes since 1975 and this is the 42nd.

It’s a chance to learn and the result is quality work on a home.

“At the beginning and to a lot of people it sounds kind of scary,” said Evan Bartram, a junior at the Career Center. “But when you see the finished product it’s pretty nice. It is almost as good as any other house you’d see that a professional built.”

“I get excited every year,” said Scott Anderson, Career Center Principal. “I’m amazed every year how good of quality work that’s gone into this house with everybody included. Our instructors are amazing. Our students are great. Our partners are fantastic. And they donate all their time. It’s amazing.”

The Homebuilders Association will soon put the house on the market.
