Three people died in Fergus County crash, two victims identified

UPDATE: Two of the three victims in a crash south of Grass Range in Fergus County on Tuesday have been identified.

According to the Fergus County Coroner’s Office, Chelsea R. Simpson, 29, of Roundup, and Gage F. Hall, 24, of Roundup were pronounced dead at the scene.

An unidentified male was also killed.

The crash was reported around 5:50 p.m. near mile marker 37 on Highway 87.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling south when it tried to pass a car in front of it.

The SUV collided head-on with another vehicle traveling north.

Two people in the southbound vehicle died and one person in the northbound vehicle was killed.

The MHP, Fergus County Sheriff’s Department, and the Fergus County Coroner’s Office are still investigating.
