HAVRE – Karen Alley was sworn in as the Hill County Attorney on Monday morning, and says that she is looking forward to serving the community.
Alley said, “I’m working hard on their behalf to make sure the communities remain safe, to make sure defendants are held accountable for their actions, and to make sure people do feel like they’re heard by the court system and by the criminal justice system. I’m absolutely committed to making sure we get justice served where it needs to be served.”
Alley noted that there are cases that have been backlogged for the past two years, and she is working hard to get through them.
Alley has served as the Deputy County Attorney for the last several months.
Her predecessor, Jessica Cole-Hodgkinson, submitted her letter of resignation last week.
Cole-Hodgkinson faced allegations of misconduct, including having cases dismissed because she was not prepared or failed to appear at hearings and trials.
