Pets killed, woman taken to hospital at South Billings mobile home fire

Posted

BILLINGS – Two pets died and a woman escaped from a mobile home fire Wednesday night on the 1000 block of Mirco Circle in Billings.

The call came to Billings firefighters about 7:50 p.m., and they had mostly extinguished the blaze by 8:20 p.m. By 9 p.m., they were mostly doing mop-up work.

One woman was inside and managed to escape, said Billings Battalion Chief Kevin Johnson. She was transported to a local hospital as a precaution, and her injuries likely aren’t serious, he said.

A dog and a cat died in the fire. Firefighters were resuscitating four kittens rescued at the scene, and the animals were transported to a local veterinarian, Johnson said.
