BOZEMAN – A fundraising effort has kicked off for the family who fell victim to a boating accident that left one dead and one missing on the Yellowstone River.

Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office Cpt. Jim Anderson was involved in a boating accident on the evening of July 27, 2018. His wife, Angie, died on the scene.

Jim Anderson and his daughter, Nicole, were able to make it to shore safely, but their son James is still missing. Search efforts are continuing.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office has set up a Gofundme page to help Anderson and his family.

Some have already stepped up to help. On Thursday, Montana State University President Waded Cruzado announced Nicole Anderson had been gifted a full-four year tuition, including room and board. Nicole will be a freshman at MSU this fall.
