Train derails in downtown Great Falls

GREAT FALLS – Several cars from a train derailed in downtown Great Falls on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at about 4:25 p.m. between the Great Falls Police Department and River Drive South.

Initial reports indicate that about six empty rail cars were involved.

Several vehicles near the tracks have been damaged.

There are no reports of injuries.

The cause of the derailment is not yet known.
