Authorities identify victim of Kalispell fatal crash

KALISPELL – We are learning more information about Wednesday afternoon’s fatal head-on crash in Kalispell.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says that 58-year-old Eve Kaaihue-Berardi of Kalispell died when her vehicle crossed the median on the Highway 93 Bypass and struck another vehicle head-on at approximately 3 p.m.

Kalispell Police say that Kaaihue-Berardi was heading north on the Bypass near West Reserve Drive when her car collided with a southbound SUV. Witnesses told KPD that they had seen Kaaihue-Berardi traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.

Kaaihue-Berardi, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead on the scene while the driver of the SUV was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The accident, which closed down the road for several hours is being investigated by the Kalispell Police Department. It does not appear that alcohol played a role in the accident, according to KPD.

(first report) KALISPELL – Law enforcement is on the scene of a fatal crash in Kalispell near the intersection of Reserve Drive and U.S. Highway 93 North.

The Montana Highway Patrol is confirming at least one fatality.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Details are limited, but we know two vehicles were involved in an apparent head-on accident.

The Kalispell Police Department is investigating the crash which delayed traffic for miles.
