Boulder falls from Rims and crashes into Billings house

BILLINGS – A boulder fell from the Rimrocks Wednesday night and struck a house below.

The boulder is in the backyard of the home at 3328 37th St. W. Smaller rocks are in the yard.

The homeowner told MTN News that rocks came into the living room, and no members of the family were injured inside.

The call came before 9 p.m. Mayor Bill Cole, Billings police and firefighters and representatives from MDU and NorthWestern Energy were all at the scene.

City officials are expected to return to the scene to examine the rock slide later Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
